Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso believes Southampton was the “perfect match” for him despite a mixed start at St Mary’s so far in the 2019/20 season.
Danso joined the English side in the summer transfer window on a season-long deal after manager Ralph Hasenhuttl was desperate to augment his squad.
Speaking to the Austrian media, the highly-rated youngster said: "I did not have to think about it [moving to Saints]. My brother was studying in Southampton. I already knew the city.
"Also, Southampton have produced many great players: Virgil van Dijk, Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale, Sadio Mane.
"And then there is Ralph Hasenhuttl as coach, who also likes young players. It was a perfect match.”
The 21-year-old made his debut in the away win at Brighton but he was sent off against Fulham in the Carabao Cup victory for two bookable offences.
He will hoping to feature for the Saints when they to travel to the Molineux Stadium to take on Wolves on Saturday.
