Spanish football expertGuillem Balague has suggested that Spanish giants Real Madrid are not interested in re-signing Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, despite rumours surrounding the player's future.

The German international has been in fine form for the Gunners over the last two seasons, and this campaign has already notched up eight goals and five assists in all competitions so far, but has sparked fears over his future after stalling contract talks to sign on passed his expiry date of 2018.

One of those who were said to be interested were the player's former club Los Blancos, however, according to Sky Sports, via theMetro, Balague has reiterated that neither party are particularly keen to get a deal done, with Ozil happy in north London.

"Mesut Ozil is not keen to re-join Real Madrid, partly because Real don't want him either," said the Spanish footballer insider.

"They were happy to let him go for the price he went, and they are not looking for that type of player."

The rumours were exacerbated by further reports earlier this month suggesting that Ozil had regretted his move from Madrid to the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2013, however the player has rejected any of these claims, insisting he is currently happy at the club.

And Ozil could be even happier should the club win the league title this year for the first time since 2004, and could go a long way to making that happen by beating Stoke City on Saturday to head to the top of the table temporarily this weekend.
