Spanish Segunda Division side UD Almeria have completed the signing of Ghanaian prodigy Arvin Appiah from English championship side Nottingham Forrest in the on-going summer transfer window

Appiah penned a five-year deal with the second division Spanish side after passing his mandatory medicals and completing the formalities on Monday.

The 18-year-old had been on the radar of several clubs in Europe including 20-time English champions Manchester United but he decided to move to Spain.

His transfer is among the most expensive moves La Liga 2 deals in history.

Born in Holland to the son of Ghanaian parents, he broke into Nottingham Forest's first team last season, scoring on his debut in the Carabao Cup against Burton Albion in a 3-2 defeat.

The highly-rated winger has represented England at youth levels, however, he still eligible to play for senior national of Ghana, Black Stars.

Before his move to Spain, Appiah struggled to break into the starting line up of Nottingham Forrest under manager Sabri Lamouchi.
