Sparta Rotterdam winger Patrick Joosten is eyeing an invite to the senior national team, the Black Stars of Ghana.

Joosten, who plies his trade with Sparta Rotterdam has disclosed his love for the West African country and readiness to represent them if the opportunity comes.

The 23-year-old joined Sparta Rotterdam on loan from FC Utrecht and has since been a key cog of the team.

He has made 15 league appearances and scored three goals for his side this season.

"I visited the capital Accra in January, my mother is from the Netherlands and my father is Ghanaian. It was not so easy how connected I felt with Ghana," Joosten told voetbal.

"I was largely raised by my mother and just received a Dutch education. I do have many African friends, but for a long time I showed little interest in my father’s country.

"That changed during my winter trip to Ghana. I have to say it was really special. I will love to play for Ghana if an opportunity comes."

He has represented the Dutch at the Under 21 level but he is still eligible to play for Ghana.
