Head coach of AshantiGold SC, Svetislav Tanasijevic believes his side are on course to clinch the GFA Normalization Committee Special Cup.

In a post-match conference at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday after a narrow 1-0 win over Medeama SC in matchday 5 of the special cup, the Serbian coach revealed that it's every team and players target to win the ultimate of the competition for which his outfit is not an exception.

Having managed to lose one, drawn two and won two, the Miners have set sight on winning the trophy.

"If I am in another club, I will want to win the tournament. How are we training the players, and what's the target of the players. Who says I don't want to win. Ask everybody and he will say he wants to win, what do you expect of me to say", the gaffer said.

"To me, the facts remain that I want to win the tournament. But it's not appropriate to play good and loss or we play poorly and we win".

He added that the wonderful supporters and other people around the Obuasi side should be patient as they gear upwards in the NC Special cup.

"People around us must understand the players. We played very good against Kotoko and we lost, now against Medeama in the last twenty minutes we didn't play good as we made a lot of mistakes but we won".

"And always everybody says this isn't good that isn't good but always things are meant to happen and its football".

AshantiGold SC are currently second to regional rivals Asante Kotoko in Group A of NC special cup tier one with 8 points and 10 points respectively.

The Miners will travel to Berekum Golden City Park to face Berekum Chelsea in their mid-week fixture.
