Special Competition: Hearts of Oak suffer first defeat against Elmina Sharks

Accra Hearts of Oak suffered their first defeat in the ongoing GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition after they lost 1-0 to Elmina Sharks on Wednesday.

The Sharks recorded their first win in the competition by beating the Phobians in their match-day two fixture at the Nduom Sports Stadium.

The first half looked very balanced as both teams failed to score with the set-pieces and chances created as it ended in a scoreless draw.

After the recess, coach Yaw Acheampong's side managed to utilized their chances as they scored in the dying embers of the game.

Hearts could have opened the score through Kojo Obeng on the 78th minute but his strike went wide.

Winger Benjamin Tweneboah continued tormenting the back line of the visitors as his effort earned them the only goal.

Felix Addo scored the only goal for Elmina Sharks on the 84th minute of the game to hand his side their first victory in the competition.

The match ended in a 1-0 win in favor of Elmina Sharks as they continued their unbeaten run in the GFA Normalization Committee Special Cup.
