The foreign-based players of Ghana U-23 team have been told to buy their own tickets by the Sports Ministry to enable them join the national team ahead of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for next month.
The Black Meteors are presently preparing for the tournament slated for next month in Egypt which will also determine which country qualifies for the Olympic Games in Japan next year.
Only the locally based players have resumed training with the Ghana Football Association seeking to provide the side with the best of preparations.
According to reports, Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah has ordered the foreign-based players who are key cog in coach Ibrahim Tanko's side to pay for their own air tickets to represent the nation due to the unavailability of funds.
Meanwhile, the bonuses for the players for qualifying the competition have also not been paid.
The Black Meteors of Ghana have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, Mali and Cameroon for the 2019 U-23 AFCON tournament which will be staged in Egypt from November 8-22.
