Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is confident that 20-year-old Harry Winks will have a bright future at Spurs, revealing that he may be handed another first-team chance over the next few weeks.

Winks has already played four times under Pochettino this season and could be given another outing on Tuesday as Spurs prepare to face Liverpool in the EFL Cup.

The Argentine manager is well-regarded for his ability to nurture young talent, which has seen him oversee the development of players likeAdam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers, Eric Dier and Dele Alli in recent seasons.

And Winks could be another name to emerge on the above list, with Pochettino claiming that he has high hopes for the 20-year-old's future at White Hart Lane.

I'm happy with Harry Winks. Maybe today is not his moment, maybe it's tomorrow, said Pochettino during his pre-match press conference,as quoted by the Hertfordshire Mercury.

I think he's doing well. His pre-season was good, he's showed good skills. For me he's a trusted player, like he was against Gillingham where he played very well.

Maybe in the next few weeks he will have the opportunity again to play. It's always about the young ones coming through the academy and he will be a very important player for the future.

Harry can play alone [in the holding role], he can play in that position because he is strong enough.

Tottenham maintained their record as the only unbeaten Premier League side on Saturday after being held to a 0-0 draw at Bournemouth, and they will be hoping to extend the record again next week as theywelcome the visit of struggling title-holders Leicester City.
