Stadia capacity to be filled to 25% by fans when new season restarts on October 30 - Nana Addo

Stadia can be filled with up to 25% of fans when the Ghana Premier League and the National Division One League restarts on October 30, 2020, President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced.

In an address to the country on Sunday night, the President announced that the two league competitions will make a return on October 30 following deliberations with the country’s football governing body.

Adding up to that, the President has disclosed that every stadium will be allowed to accommodate 25% of spectators according to its capacity.

“No spectators will be allowed at the training centres, and, when actual competition resumes, seating at all stadia will be limited to twenty-five percent (25%) capacity to ensure social distancing. Wearing of masks by spectators at stadia will be mandatory”, President Nana Addo said.

He continued, “The restart of all other sporting competitions will be determined on a case-by-case basis, pending consultations between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the respective sports associations".
