Ghana international, Thomas Partey has helped Arsenal to win the first silverware of the 2023/24 English football season.

The Black Stars midfielder started for the Gunners today when the club locked horns with English Champions Manchester City in the FA Community Shield.

In the traditional curtain raiser game to usher in the new season, Arsenal hit the ground running right from the start of the first half.

Unfortunately, numerous chances created in the first half were not converted.

After recess, the game opened up more as Manchester City created better chances.

Soon, a Cole Palmer lovely strike in the 77th minute opened the scoring for the Citizens to put the team in control.

Although the Premier League champions were at this stage en route to winning the trophy, Arsenal left it late to equalise in the 90th minute through Leandro Trossard to restore parity to the game.

When it came down to penalty shootouts, Arsenal reigned supreme with a 4-1 win to down Manchester City.

In today’s game, Ghana’s Thomas Partey lasted 90 minutes to lift the FA Community Shield with Arsenal.
