Stefano Pioli under consideration at Watford

Sacked Inter Milan coach Stefano Pioli is a candidate for the Watford job.

The London Evening Standard says Pioli and Leonid Slutsky have been added to Watford's shortlist to take over from Walter Mazzarri as manager next season.

Mazzarri was sacked yesterday although he will leave after their final game of the campaign against Manchester City on Sunday.

Pioli was axed by Inter Milan last week after just seven months in the job. He won 12 of his first 16 matches but the former Juventus defender was sacked after seven games without a win.

Pioli led Lazio to third in Serie A two years ago and although Watford are looking at him, he is also being targeted by Fiorentina.
