Stephan Ambrosius still undecided over Hamburg SV contract extension

German-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Stephan Ambrosius remains reluctant to signing a new contract at Hamburg SV despite efforts by the club to tie him down to a new deal.

The strong centre-back joined the club from St. Pauli as a teenager and gradually developed his game before being promoted from the junior team to the senior team in 2018.

His current Hamburg SV contract is due to expand in June 2021 which means he could soon start talking to clubs ahead of a free transfer move.

In a bid to tie down Stephan Ambrosius, officials of the German club have handed him a long-term 4-year contract extension.

In the midst of controversy caused by his representative, the deal is yet to be signed with the club awaiting his response.

Meanwhile, Stephan Ambrosius looks ready to leave Germany after revealing in a recent interview that he is open to joining any of the top sides in Europe.
