Swansea City coach Steve Cooper noted that Ayew has been a key part to the side's success.

Andre missed a penalty against Brentford but late on found the net to give Swansea a 1-0 advantage in the Championship playoff round.

After the game, Cooper was asked about the importance of the midfielder and he did not hesitate to make it known.

“He is really important for us, and what is more impressive with his goalscoring record is that for a lot of the season he has played out wide, and not through the middle," he told the media after the game.

“Before Rhian came here, he was our main hope for being a goal scorer, and he has lived up to the level of player we know he is,” added the Swansea coach."
