Techiman City coach Abubakar Yusif Abubakar has rubbished reports that he has abandoned the club after the first round of the Ghana Premier League season.
There were reports that the former Accra Hearts of Oak coach had gone AWOL since the end of the first half of the season.
Club President Charles Kwadwo Ntim confirmed to Accra based radio station Asempa FM that the coach and some players have not reported to training in the last three weeks.
But Abubakar has denied claims that he has deserted the team.
According to him, he will report at the team team’s training today at 5pm.
“I have not left the team, i am still the coach of the side,” he told Accra based radio Asempa FM
"I had to take care of some few issues that is why i absent myself- we all know i wasn’t around for the Ashgold game but i can tell you i am still at post there and will be at training this evening."
