Stoke City goalkeeper Shay Given feels Pep Guardiola deserves greater scrutiny over his struggles at Manchester City.
Given points out that Guardiola heightened expectations by leading City to ten straight wins at the start of the season, even though the manager himself tried to dampen those fires with caution.
“They started the season on fire, winning ten games in a row and we thought he was going to win the Treble, he's going to win everything!" said Given.
“But I think Pep has found out that it's a tough league, tougher maybe than expected.
“It would be interesting if Pellegrini was still there – would he be getting off as lightly as Guardiola is?"
