Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has praised Xherdan Shaqiri's display in the 2-0 win over Hull City and insists there is more to come this season from the Swiss winger,Eurosportreports.

The Switzerland international, 25, scored two stunning goals either side of half-time to secure all three points for his team at the KCOM stadium. The victory, which is the Potters' second in succession, takes them to 16th place in the Premier League.

Shaqiri's brace takes his tally to three goals so far this season, meaning he has already equalled the total he netted in his debut campaign last season for Mark Hughes' side.

The former Manchester City boss insists the 25-year-old has now settled into the Premier League and the best of Stoke's club-record signing will follow.

"He'll definitely score more this season," Hughes said."Clearly he's up and running now, he's got three as we speak, and will clearly beat last season's total (three) this time.

"If he continues in the same vein and shows the same application, there's more goals to come from him.

"He's in good shape," the Welshman added."He's come back this season with real purpose and he's very positive in every aspect of his work.

"Maybe last season he was getting to grips with the Premier League to a certain extent, but he feels, and looks, totally accustomed to the league now and has had a real impact in the games that he's played for us."

Hughes' men have taken seven points from their last three matches and welcome Premier League strugglers Swansea City to the Bet365 stadium in their next Premier League fixture.
