Former Ghana and Hoffenheim striker, Prince Tagoe, has advised Jordan Ayew stop holding onto the ball for long and focus on scoring goals
Ayew has endured a difficult time in the Premier League for the past two seasons having scored only one goal across both seasons.
He is yet to find the back of the net after six games played so far in the 2021/22 Premier League season.
Ayew, last scored for the Black Stars in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome from the penalty spot.
"I spoke to Jordan Ayew some years back and he took my advice and everybody knew what he did. He should have it in mind that if he doesn’t score in a game then he didn’t perform", Tagoe told Happy 98.9FM.
"He should focus on scoring and not holding onto the ball for long.
"He shouldn’t drop deep but stay at the attacking areas and concentrate on scoring", he added.
The Black Stars are currently in camp preparing for their round three games of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe.
Ghana are 2nd in Group G with 3 points following a win over Ethiopia and a 1-0 loss to South Africa in the first two matches in the World Cup campaign.
