Striker Jordan Ayew was in action this evening when Crystal Palace suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Chelsea in the English Premier League.

The two English top-flight clubs locked horns at the Selhurst Park today to fight for 3 points on Matchday 34 fixture of the ongoing 2019/2020 football season.

An entertaining encounter in the first half finished with Chelsea leading by 2 goals to 1.

First Willian assisted Olivier Giroud to give the away team the lead before Christian Pulisic added a second.

Later in the game, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha found the back of the net before the teams went for the first half break.

Chasing the game in the second half, the home team could not make use of the few chances that came their way in the early parts as they allowed Chelsea to grab a 3rd goal on the 71st minute courtesy a strike from Tammy Abraham.

Just 2 minutes later, Christian Benteke registered his name on the scoresheet. It will however not be enough at the end of the 90 minutes with Chelsea going on to win 3-2.

Jordan Ayew played 80 minutes of the match and was replaced by Andros Townsend. This is his 32nd appearance of the season. He has 9 goals and remains one of the best players for the Eagles.
