Ghanaian international Sulley Muniru featured in his club side FC Steaua Bucureşti’s 2-0 away win over FC Botosani on Thursday night in the Romanian league cup quarter-finals.
Muniru, the younger brother of Sulley Ali Muntari was handed a starting role in the game that saw him booked in the 48th minute but went on to drive the team into the semi-finals of the competition.
Gol Tudorie opened the scoring on the 45 minute with a superb hearder before Ovidiu Popescu gave the Army Men the second goal of the night to see Muniru represent in the semi-finals and possibly head into the finals to defend the title they won last season.
The excited Muniru took to twitter after the game to share his joy.
