Former Asante Kotoko CEO Opoku Nti says supporters are not attending Ghana Premier League games due to bad officiating.
According to Mr. Nti, other factors like easy access to watch foreign leagues have contributed to the low attendance. He also lamented about the collapse of die hard supporters groups in the various top flight clubs.
“Years ago officiating and human errors that is why they brought VAR so whatever it is it plays part. Football it is about the performance of the players that is what makes things move well so that supporters come. Whether you like it or not it plays important role the die hard supporters we always talk about I don’t think it exist now," he said on Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com
"Generations have come and there are a lot of things factor into it. Someone can watch a foreign match on his phone why does the person buy credit take a car and pay gate proceeds and go back while he can buy dstv so there are a lot of factors that count,”
