Swansea showed maturity against Sheffield Wednesday - Ghana skipper Andre Ayew

Ghana skipper Andre Ayew says Swansea City showed maturity and progression in their performance after coming from behind to seal a vital point against Sheffield Wednesday at the Liberty.

The 30-year-old climbed off the bench to salvage a vital point for the Swans at the Liberty Stadium.

The versatile forward has scored six goals in 12 league appearances this season.

Ayew, who missed last weekend’s win over Rotherham due to a hamstring injury, believes the Swans are making positive strides forward in the early stages of the campaign.

"When I look at the first half, they didn't get near our goal," said the former West Ham ace. "They scored from a set-piece, but we had the game under control. We went 1-0 down, but stayed in the game and stayed patient.

"We showed maturity. We got the equaliser and, later on, should have won the game.

"Still, we'll take a point, we're still progressing and will prepare for what's coming on Sunday."
