The journalist revealed on Twitterthat the winger is set to complete his move to Championship side Barnsley on a season-long loan move.

The deal comes after the head-coach of Barnsley, Danny Heckingbottom, admitted his interest in signing the 19-year-old earlier this month, identifying him as a top transfer target.

It is believed the Oldham born winger is the ideal man to replace former loanee Lloyd Isgrove who has since returned to his parent club Southampton.

Kent had previously spent time out on-loan with Coventry last seasonuntil January, after his loan-deal was cut short by Jurgen Klopp so he could assess all his options with Liverpool.

The Englishman featured 10 times for the Sky Blues, scoring once which was also ironically against Barnsley, in what became their promotion winning season.

Although predominantly a wingeron either side of the attack, he can also feature as a secondary striker.

After rising through the academy ranks the winger has been heavily involved with the Liverpool under-21 squad, scoring on three occasions last term along with two assists.

Ryan Kent also managed tofeature for the first team in their FA Cup away to Exeter in the third round, for the team hehas been with since he was six.

The England under-20 star has found hischances to impress this pre-season featuring in the Reds win over Tranmere, but he will find game time hard to come-by next season and so will head out on-loan againto gain much needed playing time and experience for Kent to seize.
