Tamworth FC have opened preliminary talks with Ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Obeng’s representatives over a new deal.

The midfielder's contract with the fifth-tier side expired on June 30 but manager Bob Andrews considers Obeng a valuable senior member of his squad and his ability to play in a number of positions is deemed crucial.
The 28-year-old joined Tamworth from Leamington FC on a season-long loan deal prior to the start of the 2019/20 season.

He was one of a key cog of the side as he made 20 appearances and scored one goal for Tamworth before the league was cancelled because of coronavirus pandemic.
