The head coach of the Womens U20 team, Yusif Basigi was left saddened by the suspension of the various leagues due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The Ghana Premier League started well and was approaching its midway point before the president called for its suspension in an effort to battle the deadly coronavirus.

In an interview with Royal FM, Basigi deemed the recent happenings ‘unfortunate’.

“It is rather unfortunate. There was a long period without football in Ghana and then the Normalization Special competition came along. We all saw how the league started so quickly because we hadn’t play something like this in a while and it was going well. Unfortunately, the coronavirus has halted the league when it was about to reach its peak.”
