Board member of Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Akambi has bemoaned the poor performance of the team this season, especially in the last game against Medeama SC.
Speaking to Oyerepa FM, he said he is in shock at how poorly the Phobians played against the Week 31 opponent of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
“I still can’t believe it and couldn’t believe it yesterday. As a board member, we have done everything needed of us and we are still doing everything the team needs.
"The players didn’t do well. I don’t know what happened but this is not how they play. To be honest with you, they did not play well,” Alhaji Akambi said.
According to the Hearts of Oak board member, the board cannot be blamed for the poor performance of the players, insisting that the board has done its bid for the team.
“Every player at Hearts of Oak will be a starter in any team in Ghana so no one can blame us that we had a bad recruitment,” Alhaji Akambi argued.
