Nana Yaw Amponsah’s journey started after getting a career ending injury in the 1980s. He had potential as a footballer but the injury derailed his career.
However, he was determined to make a name in football and decided to pursue the courses needed in the field.
On the local scene, he has attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon. He decided to further his education abroad and attained a Master’s Degree in Sports Law and Practice from the Leicester DE Monort University, UK.
He earned a license as an agent and practiced in the field from 2008-2018. In that period, he dealt in the transfer of over 50 players from Ghana to other parts of the world.
The newly appointed CEO of Kotoko, held the role of Chairman of Phar Rangers, a division one side. He was there from 2016-20 and resigned for his current role.
He is the Director of Football for Phar Partnerships. He founded and is currently the CEO of Cornny Drinks Limited.
Amponsah has huge experience in Commercial Aspects of Sports, Sports and Ethics, Sports Governance, Representing the Athlete/Player and Sports Regulatory Regimes & Sports Rights, and ambush marketing.
