The red card made things difficult for us- Maxwell Konadu

Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu was adamant that the penalty and red card given to Imoro Ibrahim made things difficult for his men as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Medeama SC.

"Yeah its true. The red card did affect our game [and] so did the penalty. It was a difficult match and I think we did very well especially in the second half. We did so well and even after the goal we kept on pushing and pushing. We were able to hit the post but we couldn't just score". He told the media after the game.

He added: "The boys did their best and I think they can make corrections and win our subsequent matches".

Asante Kotoko have gone on back-to-back defeats for the first time this season after an early goal from the Mauve and Yellows ensured a loss for the away side in Tarkwa.

Medeama was awarded a penalty inside just three minutes. Prince Opoku Agyemang stepped up and duly converted, taking his tally to four goals this season, just one behind Yahaya Mohammed.

Imoro Ibrahim was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence at the hour mark. Asante Kotoko now have to get back to winning ways on match day 5.
