Theo Walcott a Doubt for Arsenal's Trip to Sunderland as Boss Arsene Wenger Admits He's 'Not Well'

Arsenal striker Theo Walcott could potentially miss the Gunner's trip to the Premier League's bottom club Sunderland this coming Saturday, after a video emerged of manager Arsene Wenger saying the forward was unwell.

Walcott has been in fine form so far this season and has already scored eight goals in only 11 appearances. It was believed that the 27-year-old was simply rested for Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Reading in the EFL cup 4th round.

However a video from the Arsenal fan TV Instagram account showed Wenger claiming that the striker missed the game for fitness reasons and is nowa doubt for this weekend's game as he is not feeling well.

There has yet to be any official confirmation from the club regarding Walcott's fitness but it is unlikely that he will miss many games, if any.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could well be the player chosen to replace his teammate, after he grabbed both goals in the win over Reading on Tuesday night. The winger has recently admitted he is desperate for game time and will be itching toimpress Wenger whilst he has the opportunity.

Arsenal travel to the Stadium of Light level on points with league leaders Manchester City and will want to apply early pressure on their title rivals in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

They missed the chance to go clear at the top last weekend, with a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to newly-promoted Middlesbrough.

The Gunners will head into the match with Sunderland as red-hot favourites as David Moyes' men have yet to win a Premier League match this season and will be low on confidence after being knocked out of the EFL cup on Wednesday night aftera 1-0 defeat at Southampton.
