A former Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Ernest Thompson believes there are no extraordinary players at the club.
The Phobians are on course to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
The club have been reaping some impressive under Samuel Boadu. The club currently sit top of the league log with 50 points after 28 matches played with six matches to end the season.
But Thompson who is a former Board Member of the club insists the club lack quality in the current crop of players.
"When you are doing the recruitment you need to also bear in mind that you need one or two players especially within the midfield or the striking aspect of the game who can make a change," he told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.
"Years back we had Joe Fameye who you know that when the going gets tough he can do something. It's like Asamoah Gyan when he was in form, when Ghana played England, he didn't have a good game but the coach kept him the last minute from nowhere he put a ball in the net and it was one all.
"I am not seeing any, one or two extraordinary players, all the players seem to be on the same level.
"The team is far away from being what it is," he added.
Hearts of Oak will host Medeama in the matchday 29 games of the season.
