The 22-year-old former Ghana premier League MVP has been in fine form for his club but has always been denied a national team call up, which baffles him.

“I don’t get it,” he said. “Yes, it’s politics. There is a lot of politics in Ghana when it comes to football.. I’ve heard that they think the MLS is not a good league. Why say that? There are other MLS players who are on the national team.”

Blessing makes reference  to Jonathan Mensah of NYFC and Ebenezer Ofori of the Columbus Crew and Harrison Afful, who have all earned a national team appearance.
