Thierry Henry is confident Arsenal's summer signing Granit Xhaka will become 'the guy' for Arsenal's midfield.
Talking toSky Sportsahead of Arsenal's 3-1 victory over Burnley, Henry said: "Arsene says himself that he will only bring in a player who can make his team play better. He [Xhaka] doesn't look like he's a starter yet, but hopefully he can be one."
Swiss international Xhaka arrived at the Emirates in the summer, in a £33m deal from German side Borussia Monchengladbach.
One of five signings made by Arsene Wenger in the summer,Xhaka is yet to cement himself in the Frenchman'sstarting 11.
Legend Henry, however, is perplexed atthe Swiss star's lack of involvement. "It's a weird one. Arsenal bought him, so I was expecting him to start", explained the former striker.
"Maybe not every single game at the beginning because he has to adapt to the league “ but I thought that he was going to be ˜the guy' in midfield."
Since the start of last season, Granit Xhaka has been shown more red cards than any other player in the top 5 European leagues. [opta]
Henry's comments come after Xhaka has onlystarted six of Arsenal's 13 Premier League games this season, providing one goal.
23-year-old Xhaka has already picked up two yellows and one red card in his short time in North London. He was no stranger to a red card in the Bundesliga andit seems like the midfielder is yet to change his ways, since arriving in England.
His disciplinaryproblems have somewhat overshadowed his performances this season and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal's number 29 can tone down his ferociousness on the pitch.
As a fan of Bundesliga, Xhaka isn't anything special. Red card merchant
It's not all doom and gloom, however, for Arsenal's summer recruit. Xhaka has shown signs of being worth every penny Arsenal invested in him, in his big summer move.
Two absolute wonder strikes, one being his only goal in the Premier league and the other in the EFL Cup have provided Arsenal fans with a glimpse of the midfielder's talents.
With Arsenal confirming their progress in the Champions Leagueand the beginning of December starting a very busy Premier league schedule for Arsenal, Wenger will be needing all of his players to be available to him.
There is no doubt Xhaka is one of the playersWenger will look to be fundamental in Arsenal's busy winter period.
However, he and Arsenal fans know he willneed to starteradicatingthe disciplinary problems out of his game in order to make himself an integral part of Wenger's starting 11.
