Head Coach of the South African National football team Ephraim "Shakes" Mashaba believes Ghana can emerge Champions at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Gabon.
Ghana missed out on the trophy in Equatorial Guinea last year after losing on penalties to neighbours Ivory Coast in the finals.
The Ghana Football Association has however tasked Coach Avram Grant to lead the Black Stars to glory in Gabon and Coach Mashaba is confident that can be achieved with hard work.
“The Black Stars can pull a surprise to win the 2017 AFCON but they need to work hard.” He told Starr FM.
“It is going to be a difficult tournament because there are good teams making it as well but looking at the pedigree of the Black Stars and how they performed in the last tournament I think they can win.”
The Black Stars who went undefeated during the qualifiers for the tournament are chasing their fifth Nations cup title and will be testing their strength against Shakes Mashaba’s Bafana Bafana in an international friendly on October 11, 2016.
