Thomas Partey fails to make CAF player of the year final shortlist, Mukarama, Addo make Women's shortlist

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has failed to make the final shortlist of the 2018 CAF player of the year category.

The Atletico Madrid Star has been yanked from the list which includes; Alex Iwobi of Nigeria, Andre Onana from Cameroon, Anis Badri of Tunisia, Denis Onyango from Uganda, Mehdi Benatia of Morocco, English Premier League stars Mohamed Salah, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Egypt and Gabon respectively, Riyad Mahrez of Algeria, Sadio Mane of Senegal and Walid Soliman of Egypt.

In the Women's category, Black Maidens skipper Abulai Mukarama and Black Queens skipper Elizabeth Addo have made the shortlist. They are in there with Asisat Oshoala, Basira Toure, Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana, Francisca Ordega. Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, Janine Van Wyk, Onome Ebi, Raissa Feudjio, Tabitha Chawinga.

The winners for the African Player of the Year and Women’s Player of the Year will be decided by CAF Technical & Development Committee, media experts, legends, coaches of the quarter-finalists of the Caf Champions League and Caf Confederation Cup , Coaches plus captains of the national teams of the 54 member associations.

For other categories namely Youth Player of the Year, Men’s Coach of the Year, Women’s Coach of the Year, Men’s National Team of the Year and Women’s National Team of the Year, they will be elected by Caf Technical & Development Committee, media experts, legends, coaches of the quarter-finalists of the Caf Champions League and Caf Confederation Cup.
