The highly-rated midfielder was a second half substitute last Saturday when the Gunners lost narrowly to Manchester City in the English Premier League.

Today, Thomas Partey earned his first starting role at Arsenal when he was selected by manager Mikel Arteta to feature in the clash against Rapid Vienna at the Allianz Stadion.

The former Atletico Madrid star made a huge impression and managed to last the entire duration of the Group B encounter with high marks.

On the matchday, two goals from David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped Arsenal to come from behind to beat the Austrian side that scored first through a strike from Taxiarchis Fountas.

Partey, 26, looked solid in midfield today and appears to have settled very well even with the few weeks he has been at Arsenal.
