Top European clubs send scouts to watch Partey at the AFCON ahead of summer move

Footballghana.com can confirm that top European clubs have sent scouts to watch Ghanaian International Thomas Partey at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament ahead of a potential summer move.

The player is still under contract with Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid who finished 2nd last term ahead of Real Madrid and below eventual champions FC Barcelona.

Whiles, he is an integral part of Diego Simeone’s side, he could not play as many matches as he wanted in the 2018/2019 season. Checks have revealed is forcing the player to consider his options and is said to fancy a move away from the Spanish Capital.

At this year’s AFCON, he is expected to be one of the top stars playing for West African giants Ghana. They have been pitted in Group F and will face the likes of Benin, Guinea Bissau, and defending champions Cameroon.

Having already been linked with a move to Arsenal, Manchester United and the likes, reports indicate that some of the top European clubs have specifically assigned their scouts to go to the AFCON tournament, watch the player and report back on his performance.

If Partey impresses at the tournament, he could be poached away from Atletico to any of the top clubs in one of the top Leagues.
