Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is set for a loan move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid which will force Arsenal to step up their chase for Thomas Partey according to reports.
The Gunners failed to sign the Ghanaian previously after offering Matteo Guendouzi and cash. Atletico Madrid have stood firm on their 50 million euro release clause so far.
It is understood that Arsenal may trigger the clause or at the very least convince Atletico Madrid to soften their stance on the clause although that seems unlikely.
Partey had an exceptional campaign last season and has been a subject of interest among top clubs in Europe. The likes of Inter Milan, Juventus and PSG have considered him.
It will be interesting to see if Partey makes the switch to Arsenal.
