"If you asked him 10 days ago, he was ready to play," Pochettino told a news conference. "But in the end the last word is always myself that's going to take the risk, the decision.
"You know very well that Harry is an animal. He wants to be ready as soon as possible. He did everything to try to recover.
"Maybe he is going to start or maybe not. He is very good and I think we need to assess him one training session more tomorrow and then decide. Maybe he's going to be available to be part of the squad for Saturday.
"I don't care if he feels ready or not. Who's going to decide in the end is myself, with my coaching staff and the doctor and medical staff too.
"The injury he suffered, it's tough to recover [from]. But we're so happy that in the last 10 days he was fantastic and training and can be available again. It's going to be a massive impact for everyone."
Tottenham are also waiting for Dele Alli to return from a hamstring injury, and Pochettino said: "He's in maybe the last part of his recovery and that is a key part. We can't know if it will be one week, 10 days or two weeks."
