Turkish side Trabzonspor are in the market for a striker to replace Caleb Ekuban and will look to the assistant manager of the club, Eddie Newton to find a suitable replacement for the Ghanaian, footballghana.com can exclusively report.
Footballghana.com understands that the reasoning behind this decision is due to Newton's ties with England teams, having previously served at Chelsea under Guus Hiddink and Champions League winning manager Roberto Di Matteo.
Caleb Ekuban himself played for English club Leeds United before making the move to Turkey and is seen by the club's management as a huge success. They want to recruit another striker from England as a result.
The former Leeds forward has been linked to a number of clubs including Scottish League giants Rangers and his departure in the summer looks likely. His current contract ends in 2022.
The 26 year old has made 25 appearances for his club in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and providing six assists.
