Trezeguet: AC Milan striker is heir to my throne

Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet has showered praise upon AC Milan youngster Patrick Cutrone, after suggesting that the Italian is the player who most represents him.

With 123 Serie A goals in the shirt of the Old Lady, the 20-year-old has some way to go before he replicates the ex-Monaco attacker’s feats in the peninsula, but has every confidence in his ability.

“My heir among those young Italian players is probably playing for a rival of the Bianconeri, Cutrone,” Trezeguet told the press.

“He’s doing very well, he really wants to succeed and it’s important for Italian football so it can return to the highest level.”

Attending the launch of Juventus’ first official store in the capital Rome, the Frenchman also reinforced the belief that Juventus will be focusing more keenly on the Champions League this term.

“Juventus are very keen on this goal [the Champions League],” claimed Trezeguet. “They have added important players at a level to reach this goal.

“They very much want to bring the trophy back to Turin.”
