U-20 AFCON: Black Satellites coach Karim Zito eyes win over Tanzania

Published on: 15 February 2021

Black Satellites head coach Abdul Karim Zito has set sights on beating Tanzania in their Group C opener in the ongoing U-20 African Cup of Nations in Mauritania.

The Satellites will take on their Tanzanian counterparts at the Nouadhibou Municipal stadium on Tuesday at 8 pm.

Speaking ahead of the game, Zito emphasized that a win in their first game will give them special motivation going into subsequent ones.

"Seriously, it is a big opportunity for us. If we are able to win the first game, winning the first game gives you the motivation to play ahead.

"During the WAFU B, we were able to beat Nigeria and that carried us to the semi-finals.

He added, "I won’t say playing Tanzania is a must-win, but winning is our first motto. I cannot talk about Morocco if I have not finished with Tanzania."

"For now, Tanzania is my headache. If I am able to go through with Tanzania then the rest will follow," Zito concluded.
