U-20 AFCON: Kudus Mohammed confident of improved performance against Mali

Published on: 08 February 2019

Ghana U-20 midfielder Mohammed Kudus has issued an unqualified apology to all Ghanaians following their poor display in the defeat to Senegal on Wednesday.

The Junior Teranga Lions of Senegal dented the hopes of the Black Satellites for an easy qualification to 2019 U-20 World Cup in Poland with a 2-0 scoreline.

Satellites now face an uphill task to secure qualification as they need to beat or get a draw against Mali, a team they lost twice to at the Under 17 level in 2017.

Ahead of their crucial match Mali, the Nordsjaelland playmaker has apologised on behalf of his teammates but confident they will secure qualification on Saturday against Mali.

“We are very gutted for letting Ghana down with a poor performance & results vs Senegal. Come Saturday( 09-02-09) is a test of character, we’ll represent our DNA & the Will of the Sparkling Black Star to bleed Red, Gold (Yellow) & Green for our beloved Motherland.” Kudus posted on his Facebook page

“Are we Black Satellites without the support & prayers of a unified Ghana?? Absolutely Not. We are cos of you Ghana ????????! Until we are called to Rest.”

Kudus has so far been Ghana’s best player in the tournament and he will hope to play an instrumental role for Jimmy Cobblah's side to qualify for the U-20 FIFA World Cup.
