Ukraine-based player Stanley Danquah has been handed a call-up by coach Jimmy Cobblah for the upcoming African youth championship in Niger.

The 19-year-old, who was once chased by German lower-tier sides including FC Dresden and Karlsruher SC, is currently with the Ghana national U-20 side preparing for the 2019 African Youth Nations Cup to be staged in Niger next month.

The high-rated youngster can operate as a centre-back or holding midfielder and has so far been impressed by the training regimes he and his teammates are currently experiencing under the watchful eyes of coach Jimmy Cobblah and was full of praise for the technical handlers.

Stanley was once on the books of Tano Bofoakwa before leaving the shores of Ghana to the Eastern European country.

The Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (previously known as the African Youth Championship or the African U-20 Championship) is the main international youth football competition for CAF nations and is competed for by under 20-year-olds. It is held every two years with the top 4 teams qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
