Black Meteors skipper Yaw Yeboah is highly optimistic of a victory over Mali in their final Group A game at the on-going Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Egypt on Thursday.
A win for Ghana will enhance their chances of qualification following their defeat to host nation Egypt on Monday night.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko's side twice led the hosts but suffered a 3-2 loss, limiting their chances of progress. The team will now be depending on the result of the game between Egypt and Cameroon to stand a chance of qualifying.
"It’s been a tough tournament so far but we are confident that we can make something happen and achieve our objectives," Yeboah said in a pre-match interview.
Ghana has not qualified for the Olympic football since 2004 in Athens but the chances of the Black Meteors grabbing a ticket to the competition looks increasingly unlikely.
