U-23 AFCON: Ghana to face Cote d’Ivoire in semis

The Black Meteors of Ghana will face the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-finals of the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament which is currently ongoing in Egypt.

The fixture was confirmed this evening when the last round of matches in Group B of the tournament was played.

Ghana booked its qualification yesterday when they beat Mali by two goals to nothing as Egypt defeated Cameroon in the other group game.

Cote d’Ivoire who finished Group B as winners picked up six points when they pipped Zambia by a goal to nil this evening.

The West African neighbours will now lock horns in the semis of the U-23 AFCON as they seek for qualification to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The semi-final match between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire will be played on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the Al Salam Stadium. Kick-off will be at 17:00GMT.

Meanwhile, the other semi-final game will be between host nation Egypt and South Africa.
