Head coach for the Black Meteors of Ghana, Ibrahim Tanko has shared that he is confident in the abilities of his players to deliver against Egypt when they come up against them on Monday in the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The side opened their campaign in the ongoing tournament against Cameroon on Friday in a match that ended 1-1 at the end of an entertaining 90 minutes of football.

With Coach Tanko and his boys set to play Egypt next, he insists he is optimistic they can earn all 3 points even though he admits the host nation will be dangerous to play against.

“We know how dangerous the Egyptians can be but I am highly confident in my boys’ ability to deliver in such difficult matches”, the Ghana coach said in a pre-match interview to the game tomorrow.

The gaffer added, “We know that the task ahead is not going to be an easy one for us, especially playing with the supporters behind their team but as I said I am very confident in my team and I believe they will play without fear to make every Ghanaian proud”.

Egypt is currently top of the Group A standings and Ghana will need to win at all cost to keep her hopes of progressing to the knockout stage alive.

The game will be played at the Cairo International Stadium with kick off set at 18:00GT.
