U-23 Africa Cup of Nations: Chris Hughton's presence will motivate Black Meteors players - Ibrahim Tanko

Black Meteors head coach, Ibrahim Tanko says the presence of Chris Hughton will motivate his players at the ongoing 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

The Black Stars coach is currently at the camp of the team.

Ghana's U-23 team o Sunday recorded their first win of the tournament against Congo on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

And Tanko believes Chris Haughton who is offering technical support to the team will inspire the team with his presence.

“We are happy to have him in the team. We have been exchanging ideas with him," Tanko said during his post-match press conference.

"He is the head coach of the senior national team and that’s where some of these players will go from here so we are happy to have him here," he added.

Ghana sit top of Group A following their 3-2 win over Sunday and will take on host country, Morocco on Tuesday with kick-off scheduled at 20:00GMT.
