U-23 CAN: We are ready for Algeria match - Majeed Ashimeru

Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has stressed on the readiness of the Ghana u-23 team ahead of their meeting with their counterpart from Algeria later this afternoon.

The two nations are billed for a crucial date today in what will be the first leg of a two-legged encounter as they bid to secure qualification to this year’s edition of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations (CAN).

Speaking in an interview with the media, Red Bull Salzburg middleman Majeed Ashimeru shared that every player is ready and looking forward to the game.

“Everyone is looking forward to the game and I think it has been years that we haven’t qualified for the Olympics. Me and my teammates, everyone knows how important it is. I think we are ready and hopefully we can do something better”, the Black Meteors player said.

The winner of the two-legged encounter will have the chance of playing at the upcoming CAN tournament expected to be staged in Egypt.

Today’s match kicks off at 15:30GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
