Veteran football administrator Nana Fitz has reacted to the comment made by the Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku with regard to the upcoming elections.

Okraku, the incumbent President of the Ghana FA, and the Executive Council will see their mandate expire on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

This means fresh elections must be conducted to elect the new leadership of the football association.

But Okraku in an interview with SuperSports made a bold statement, indicating that elections are currently the least of his concerns.

"First of all, I don't know whether elections are coming up. I have not started to think about elections yet, but I react to the mood of the people. What I will do is react exactly to what the people want. I remember three and a half four years ago I was asked the same question about whether Kurt Okraku would contest the elections, and my answer has always been that when the time comes, football will speak and football will speak."

However, Nana Fitz, who is a veteran football administrator expressed his displeasure about Kurt’s comment and has therefore charged him to reveal the date for the elections.

“I’m pleading with Kurt Okraku to let Ghanaians know the date for the election to enable interested candidates to prepare. He became the President of the Ghana FA through elections.

“I don’t think Ghanaians will be happy with Kurt, coming out publicly that he does not know whether the election is coming on this year. This is not chieftaincy; it is an association so there should election anytime one’s mandate is over," he added.
