The Black Stars forward captained the team in the absence of José David Leudo in a Match Week 10 fixture played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as they fought for 3 points.

Kerala Blasters took the lead in the first half courtesy a strike from Bartholomew Ogbeche which ensured they went into the break with the lead.

Less than ten minutes into the second half, NorthEast United was awarded a controversial penalty. Ghana’s all-time leading top-scorer Asamoah Gyan stepped up and converted to get his side back on level terms.
