Ashanti Gold SC were held to a goalless draw by Salitas FC in the first leg of the tie in the preliminary stage of the 2020/21 CAF Confederations Cup competition on Sunday.
The Ghanaian giants hosted the Burkina Faso side at the Len Clay Sports Stadium hoping to win to have the advantage before the second leg.
In a first half dominated by Ashgold, the side failed to make good use of all the chances they created.
Hoping to score in the second half, a strong defensive performance from Salitas FC stopped the Miners from having their way.
In the end, the encounter has ended in a stalemate with both teams set to have it all to play for in the second leg of the tie next weekend.
Ashanti Gold SC will need to ensure they win on the road by all means on risk suffering early knockout from this season’s CAF Confederations Cup:
